Saving Hope Season 5 Begins Production

Saving Hope season 5CTV has announced that production the fifth season of its hit medical drama Saving Hope has begun production in and around the Greater Toronto Area and will continue on till November 2016. Another 18-episodes will be produced bringing its total episode count to 85.

In the season 4 finale, was quite the cliffhanger where Tom Crenshaw (Travis Milne) crashed the Hope-Zion Fellowship Awards out for revenge against Charlie (Michael Shanks). But who was shot or not will presumably be answered in the premiere.

As season 5 picks up, CTV describes it as “the Hope Zion staff are thrust into turmoil. Following her promise to stay away from Charlie if he survived his surgery, Alex (Erica Durance) faces a big decision while her fellow doctors deal with new challenges as changes come to Hope Zion that will not only affect the livelihood of the hospital, but also its doctors and everything they hold dear.”

Joining the cast for Season 5 in a recurring role is Calgary-born actor Jarod Joseph (“The 100,” “Mistresses”). CTV describes Joseph’s character as “The young, charming, and philosophical radiologist Dr. Emanuel Palmer brings a laissez-faire attitude to Hope Zion, as well as a propensity for challenging his medical colleagues with his unique insights.”

Aside from Durance and Shanks, other returning cast members include Wendy Crewson, Michelle Nolden, Benjamin Ayres, Julia Taylor Ross, Huse Madhavji, Kim Shaw, and Dejan Loyola will also return.

Durance will be directing an episode this season as well as Shanks.

Saving Hope fifth season is set to air as part of CTV’s 2016/17 broadcast season. Stay tuned to this site for a premiere date.
